Dress-down days:
Dress-down days are days when
students can come to school out of uniform. These days are
sometimes
used as incentives, rewards, for holidays, or at the principal’s
discretion. They are announced at school the previous day, in order to
minimize classroom disruption. On these days, students may wear
appropriate clothes of their choice. Examples of inappropriate clothes:
t-shirts advocating sex, drugs, alcohol or violence; ripped or torn
jeans; low-rise or hip-hugging pants; pants or shorts with
inappropriate words or symbols across the seat; tank tops; shirts where
part of the stomach is showing; tight or see-through tops; low
necklines, etc. Students are allowed in school in casual
comfortable
clothes; but they are coming to school, not going to the beach or out
to play. These restrictions apply whether students are in school or on
a field trip, as well as children in our After School Program.
