The existence of Saint Anthony of Padua
Elementary School is credited to the foresight and dreams of
Bishop Georges Guertin. He first arrived at Saint Anthony Parish
on October 2, 1890 and immediately delved into the task of
building for the future. His foresight and wisdom were
contributing factors in two separate land purchases that insured
the further development of parish institutions.
Under the present leadership skills of Mrs. Sandy Stewart, the principal, Saint Anthony of Padua Elementary
School continues to flourish. With the addition of a Community
Center to be shared between the school and the parish, many more
are able to attend school basketball games and concerts, as well
as attend parish functions. The current enrollment of
approximately 300 students is divided among grades pre-kindergarten
through sixth grade.
